About Rod Kim

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was a kid, I was a loner and part of that was being introverted and part of that was being the only Asian-American in a small town. In my teens, I found CDs and albums became my happy place. I dove into music and never looked back. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Blue October, Foiled Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life The Raconteurs, Consolers of the Lonely I'm a fan of full-length albums that were artfully crafted to be albums. I can listen to all 3 of these albums from top to bottom without hesitation. They make you feel something, tell stories and are just f*cking GREAT music. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Favorite Day” No one ever warns you of where your head can go when things are going really well. I was riding a wave of great times and suddenly got worried about losing that it. I wrote this song to remind the me, on those days, that good days would return soon. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? A younger me would've had trouble picking through individual moments, but me today looks back at the whole road behind me and just really treasures all that as a whole. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to write a song for a rom-com in the big third act finale when the main love interests finally get their happy ending and I wanna write a hit for a major pop artist...someday!
